A Snapshot of the 2018 OTCQX® Best 50

We recently announced the 2018 OTCQX® Best 50.  Now In its 4th year, our annual ranking highlights the top 50 U.S. and international companies traded on the OTCQX Best Market, based on an equal weighting of one-year total return and average daily dollar volume growth.   The companies featured in the Best 50 were ranked based upon their performance during the 2017 calendar year.

OTCQX Best 50 Companies

The companies included in this years’ list traded an aggregate $19.9 billion in dollar volume in 2017, delivering to investors an average total return of 120%.  The roster of companies recognizes the diverse scope and scale of the global and U.S. issuers trading on OTCQX.  A cross section of sectors and industries spanning from global markets in Australia, Germany and Brazil, to the pillar of resource, metals and mining companies in Canada.  The ranks also included domestic leaders in the banking, hospitality and medical sectors.

The widely-recognized Bitcoin Investment Trust (OTCQX: GBTC), an open-ended trust which is invested exclusively in bitcoin and deriving its value solely from the price of bitcoin, achieved the distinction of being this year’s #1 ranked company. While Amerigo Resources Ltd. (OTCQX: ARREF), the top performing international company, garnered its accolade as the #2 ranked company.

Regional and Community Banks

It’s worth noting that twenty-one established regional and community banks were ranked among the prestigious list of industry leaders. Jason Paltrowitz is Executive Vice President, Corporate Services at OTC Markets Group, where he is responsible for managing the firm’s international and domestic Corporate Services business. Drawing upon his expertise in cross-border trading and as a recognized proponent of Reg A+ and small company capital raising, Jason is an advocate for small cap issuers, start-ups, and entrepreneurial innovators working to alleviate the cost, time and complexity associated with being a public company. Prior to joining OTC Markets in October 2013, Jason was Managing Director and Segment Head at JP Morgan Chase responsible for the custody, clearing and collateral management business in the Corporate and Investment Bank division. Jason also held multiple senior management positions at BNY Mellon, most notably, as Head of M&A for the Financial Markets and Treasury Services Sector and 11 years as the Head of the Global Capital Markets Group in the Depositary Receipt Division. Jason currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Crowdfunding Professional Association (CfPA) and also served as a member of the Board of Directors at OTC Markets Group from 2008 – 2011. Jason holds a Bachelor's degree in International Relations from Boston University and received his MBA from the NYU Stern School of Business.
