OTC Markets Extends Strong Start to 2026 with Accelerating Q2 Trading Activity

The second quarter of 2026 built on a strong start to the year for OTC Markets, with trading activity accelerating further across global securities.

By the end of Q2, more than 12,300 securities were actively trading across OTC Markets, reflecting the depth and diversity across asset classes, geographies, and issuer types. Total dollar volume reached $227.4 billion, a 29.7% increase over Q2 2025, bringing first-half 2026 volume to $453.3 billion, up 28.4% year-over-year.

Trading activity remained robust throughout the quarter, with 26.5 million trades executed. This activity was fueled by a wide mix of issuers, including U.S. SEC Reporting companies, international (non-U.S.) issuers, ADRs, and billion‑plus market cap companies highlighting OTC Markets’ role as a home for both established and growth‑oriented securities. ADR dollar volume alone climbed to $169.14 billion, up 30.4% year-over-year.

Global cross‑traded securities continued to play a meaningful role in overall market activity. Companies spanning Europe and Asia collectively drove the majority of international volume, contributing $113.5 billion and $76.7 billion, respectively, while North America (excluding the U.S.) volume nearly doubled year‑over‑year to $23.4 billion, reinforcing OTC Markets as a truly international market for investors seeking global exposure.
