Trading volumes in 2026 to date continued to show strong growth over the prior year. While dollar volumes during the third quarter declined slightly compared to first and second quarters of 2026, they increased 23.4% over the same period last year.
$203.5 billion in total dollar volume was recorded during the quarter across 12,307 securities, with 24.3 million trades being completed.
International (non-U.S.) securities accounted for $193.6 billion, while ADRs totaled $146.8 billion. Overall, international volumes increased 37.4% with companies that have a primary listing in Asia, North America and South America seeing the highest growth.
By geography, Europe had the highest volume with $97.5 billion during the third quarter, up 23.4% from Q3 2025, followed by Asia at $64.6 billion, a 45.1% increase year-over-year. North America (excluding the U.S.) contributed $29.4 billion and grew 80% over the same period the prior year.
